The last thing...

After seven and a half months of being in India, after having our last ride on a bus, our last favourite South Indian dish (Roast!), after saying the last 'good night' to the girls we are sitting in our room, our home which is clean and empty by now and feel that there are some words left to say...

Dear reader,
we experienced many things, we had good and bad times and tried to share it with you as good as possible...
We hope you enjoyed reading our texts and looking at all the pictures.
We hope we could show you at least a part of that completely different world we were living in.
Thank you for beings with us, for showing interest and writing comments..
See you soon!

Dear Renate (and KKS team),
through you we got the chance to come to India and experience all these incredible things, the culture, the lifestyle, the country...
We learned so much about and for life, we grew older and will come back full of thoughts and ideas that we can share with all the people we know.
Thank you for choosing us and giving us this special opportunity.
We hope we get the chance to give you back at least a bit of what you've done for us!

Dear Malathi (and KKID team),
you supported us in so many ways, taught us the first important things about living in India and gave us such a good start for our voluntary service.
Thank you for giving us the feeling that there's always someone to call, to speak to, someone who cares.
All the best for your mentorship with the next batches of German volunteers!

Dear Selva,
you coordinated our volunteership in a good way and the Ooty trip was amazing.
Thank you for supporting us with our tasks.
Take care!

Dear Shankar and Seetha,
it was a pleasure for us to work in your organization for seven months.
We hope we could support you in the same way you supported us.
We always had the feeling we could come and talk to you openly and we'll always remember this time.
Thank you for showing us so many places, cultural things and the Indian family life.

Dear Lakshmi Amma,
thank you for each and every dosa you prepared for us, thanks for all the tea and your unique character!
You played a big part in making the Abhaya feel like a home for us.
We will miss you!

Dear Viji,
our 'Aka', you were always there for us, always good for a joke, a laughter and special talks in the kitchen. The 29th child of the Abhaya which hopefully will stay for a long time - you make the children happy.
Thanks for making us laugh... even in sad times!
We were glad to have you.

Dear wonderful, amazing, beautiful, charming, cheerful girls of the Abhaya,
after seven months of being with you we feel like having 28 new sisters.
You are our Indian family and we will NEVER forget you!
Thank you for being the best thing that happened to us, you made us happy.
Whenever there is a chance to come we will be there!

Good bye India - see you soon!
Charly and Katja
